Designing Demand is a Design Council initiative developed to help businesses increase profits, sales and market share by using design.
First, one-day workshops show managers and business advisors how good design makes money and how design fits into business planning to get results.
Design Associates, who come from a range of design backgrounds and are all experts from within the industry then provide hands on support to businesses to identify opportunities to use design to gain real benefits.
Each business is allocated 5 days of support from their Design Associate at no cost. This time can be used at any stage in the process from writing the initial brief to completion of the design work.
3 creative agencies are then invited to pitch for the project. The agencies involved do not provide any visuals for their pitch which means that no creative work is done for free. Instead pitches are based on the past experience and skills of the agencies which Fat Frog thinks is a much fairer system.
Fat Frog are currently working with 3 Designing Demand clients, 21 Degrees, Microcomputing Solutions Ltd and CEDREC . We have found the initiative beneficial and interesting.
